Gone for a while

Due to Blogger (Google) upgrade, I've been unable to post!

Thank you for reading!!! Due to offline business efforts and the continued development of the community website as well as a brand new auction system by Soky.net, this blog as not been updated in a while. We will deploy a new blog using the new blog management system in the first quarter of 2007. The new software is only a small part of the new website. With new content creators, products and services, Soky.biz will continue to provide personal opinion, great ideas and useful information specifically for small business people in southcentral KY.

Respectfully,
David Francis

I just wrote a four page blog

I just spent the last two hours writing a four page blog covering everything from spending Christmas with my family to my plans for 2007 and beyond. There are a few morsels of wisdom, reflections on the past, even an analogy from my days as a member of the aircrew.

I poured out my heart and tapped some insight that surprised myself. I covered the importance of looking ahead without forgetting the lessons of the past. I explored my friendships, my business, and even my primary aim for life. This 4 page blog helped me define myself as best as one can in public and will be compass from which I will continue my journey.

excerpt:

"As I step into the crowded room of life and business, I am looking forward aware of what's to come. Prepared to make adjustments to my path as needed so as to not hurt others in the room. I am aware of the many things in the room that will affect my journey through it. I remember those people who are harder to get around as well as those who will help me should I fall. I enter this new room eager to make a difference and with a plan that should make my path easier. I noticed the doorway and remember its location should I need to retreat, but I don't focus on it too much so I can continue to move forward. "

"Room number 2007 is going to be a great one and I cannot wait to enter it.  "

I have posted it on my personal home page instead of here because of length and diversity. I invite you to visit, read and get to know me a little deeper than before.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

The Christmas season is right around the corner.

I walk in stores just to observe how people are acting and watch their actions. I am shocked. I know that I shouldn’t be, because we have forgotten what Christmas truly is. Now, I am not going to sit here and preach to anyone, but people are all tied up in getting that perfect gift. Hasn’t the perfect gift already been given to us all?

Don’t get me wrong, I do buy gifts for my family and friends. I know this has become a tradition over the years, but I also make it a point to truly enjoy the season. I take advantage and spend time with family that I do not regularly get to see. I take time off work to spend with my daughter and, I go to Church (as I regularly do) for the special services. “OOPS, I might have just offended someone by mentioning Church.” Sorry if I did but I am not afraid to admit it.

Well let me offend you again “MERRY CHRISTMAS.” Now that is not so hard to say. I am glad to see that some retailers have figured that out. I might even patronize their stores again. In fact I encourage everyone to patronize these retailers, and boycott those who do not.

Let’s all remember the true meaning of the Christmas season, and don’t forget to keep our military members and their families in our thoughts and prayers. These folks don’t get the opportunity to truly enjoy the season. They are part of the reason we do.

Merry Christmas,

Tim Hunt
