VOTE! South Central KY Small Business

I was going to write a long drawn out explanation of why it's so important for small business people to vote. I decided that it would be an insult to any small business owner to assume you didn't already understand the importance and significance of voting. I won't do that. I also was going to share who I was going to vote for, but again I feel that most small business people already have an idea of who they are voting for and why.

My ticket will be mostly red with a slight tinge of blue for law enforcement.

All said... I do feel compelled to remind all small business people in Warren County Kentucky to take the time to vote. It takes a little time and if you are like me, have to drive out of your way, but the only way to make a difference is to cast your vote. Every single vote counts especially in our area.

If you want to do a little more, please visit my personal blog (http://blog.davidfrancis.org) for a special letter and invitation from Judge Mike Buchanon.

Introducing Tim Hunt

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce a new member of the Soky.net team. Instead of getting the facts wrong, it is best if Tim shares a little about himself.

Well, here I am. My name is Timothy “Tim” Hunt. I am so excited about the opportunity to be a part of such a new, wholesome, up-in-coming local business.

Who am I?

I am a born and raised Warren Countian. I graduated from Warren East High School and attended Western Kentucky University. After high school I joined the United States Air Force (like webmaster David) where I spend the next six years. I had many opportunities to stay elsewhere but I chose to come back to Bowling Green. Since returning to Bowling Green I have concentrated my efforts on sales, marketing, and business management. I am currently an Ambassador with the Chamber of Commerce, member of Leadership Bowling Green 2006, an active member of Oakland Baptist Church where I serve as Moderator for the business meetings, and anything to do with local politics, just to name a few. I enjoy the volunteer work that I do with the Red Cross, Lost River Cave, and the Chamber.

Currently I am on the last leg of my first political campaign. I am running for a seat on the Oakland City Commission. This is the first election cycle, in my memory, that this is a contested race. We have six people on the ballot for four seats. I am hopeful but not over confident that I can pull this off. I hopefully can write more about this later.

I look forward to the opportunity that is ahead for SoKy.net. I look forward to hearing from and seeing many of you out in the community. Hopefully David will let me post something now and then to say hello and have some fun. Do not hesitate to contact me with any issues that you may have. Thank you David, for the opportunity.

Welcome to the team Tim! I am excited that you have chosen to be part of the Soky.net family. And yes, you are more than welcome (actually encouraged) to post here as often as you like.

Mr. Hunt brings to Soky.net years of experience working directly with small business in south central Kentucky. Businesses in our community have come to trust Tim for more than just his marketing, advertising and sales expertise, but also trust him as a fellow small businessman and leader in and around Bowling Green, KY. As he mentioned, he is very active in local civic and business functions, in fact I don't think he has missed a ribbon cutting in years.

As Soky.net continues to discover itself, I'm proud and honored to have Tim as a member of the inner circle that will help shape Soky.net into all it can be. I have relied on Tim's opinion and advice for years and now I am overjoyed that he has chosen to be part of my beloved company. I'm convinced that there is no one else in our community who has knowledge and experience like Mr. Hunt. He knows business, he knows marketing and frankly, I think he knows every living soul in Warren County... well almost. (grin)
