It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

The Christmas season is right around the corner.

I walk in stores just to observe how people are acting and watch their actions. I am shocked. I know that I shouldn’t be, because we have forgotten what Christmas truly is. Now, I am not going to sit here and preach to anyone, but people are all tied up in getting that perfect gift. Hasn’t the perfect gift already been given to us all?

Don’t get me wrong, I do buy gifts for my family and friends. I know this has become a tradition over the years, but I also make it a point to truly enjoy the season. I take advantage and spend time with family that I do not regularly get to see. I take time off work to spend with my daughter and, I go to Church (as I regularly do) for the special services. “OOPS, I might have just offended someone by mentioning Church.” Sorry if I did but I am not afraid to admit it.

Well let me offend you again “MERRY CHRISTMAS.” Now that is not so hard to say. I am glad to see that some retailers have figured that out. I might even patronize their stores again. In fact I encourage everyone to patronize these retailers, and boycott those who do not.

Let’s all remember the true meaning of the Christmas season, and don’t forget to keep our military members and their families in our thoughts and prayers. These folks don’t get the opportunity to truly enjoy the season. They are part of the reason we do.

Merry Christmas,

Tim Hunt
